How we handle your information

Who we are

GES LABS BFN (PTY) LTD (Reg. 2022/458749/07), of JCP Park 4, Unit 1, Warehouse 1, 9 Karee Street, Old East End, Bloemfontein, 9301, South Africa, is the "responsible party" for the personal information described here.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we collect:

• Diagnostics / assessment requests (Contact Us) — your name, email, phone number, claim or reference number, details of the item and fault, and any photos you attach.
• Store & spare-parts orders ("Buy this item") — your name, email, phone number, and, if you provide it, your VAT number for invoicing.
• Technical data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) generated automatically by hosting infrastructure, and an admin login session cookie for staff use only. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

• Assess, repair or diagnose the equipment you submit to us, and correspond with you about it;
• Process a purchase from our second-hand store or spare parts listings, and generate a valid tax invoice;
• Reply to enquiries, and — where you've given us a claim reference — liaise with the relevant insurer or assessor on that claim;
• Meet our own legal, accounting and tax obligations.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for marketing purposes. We only share it where necessary to do the above — for example, with the insurer or assessor named on a claim reference you provide, or with our bank when you make an EFT payment referencing an invoice. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising services on this site.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for as long as required under South African tax and companies legislation. Diagnostics requests and correspondence are kept for as long as reasonably needed to complete the work and resolve any follow-up, after which they may be archived or deleted.

Security

Information submitted through this site is stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure, sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to the admin dashboard is password-protected. As with any online system, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Ask us what personal information we hold about you;
• Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or out of date;
• Ask us to delete information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep;
• Object to how we're using your information, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email us at info@geslabs.co.za. You can also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) if you believe we've handled your information incorrectly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time as the site or our processes change. Significant changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
