GES LABS BFN repairs electronic and medical equipment down to component level, and carries out insurance assessments and diagnostics. Our engineers bring over 30 years of combined experience — working for insurers, businesses and individuals to cut downtime, cut cost, and keep equipment in service.
Our roots go back to 1990, when the business started out in Bloemfontein as Gadget Engineering, later becoming Gadgetworld. It was registered under its current name — GES LABS BFN, short for Gadget Electronic Services LABoratory, Bloemfontein — in 2022. We specialise in component-level repair of electronic and medical equipment, and in insurance assessments. Our team of engineers brings over 30 years of combined technical experience, serving insurers, businesses and individuals alike.
Our vision is to be an innovative and trusted partner in electronic repairs and insurance assessments — setting the standard for technical excellence, integrity and service delivery.
Our mission is to deliver expert, component-level electronic repairs and thorough insurance assessments with accuracy, efficiency and transparency — minimising downtime, reducing costs, and extending the lifespan of electronic and medical equipment across South Africa.
We work claim-by-claim with insurers, loss adjusters and assessors — logging every item against your claim or job reference, testing it on the bench to component level, and writing up a clear, defensible cause of failure with supporting photos.
Reports are built to support a claims decision: what failed, why, and whether it's economical to repair. We liaise directly with your assessor or claims handler, not just the policyholder, so nothing gets lost in translation.
Submit a claim itemLogged against the claim or job reference, photographed, and queued for the bench.
Fault isolated to component level using the right test method for that equipment.
A clear cause of failure, written up with measurements and supporting photos.
Report and item returned to the assessor, insurer or client — repair or write-off.
